Pessaries are contraindicated in acute genital tract infections, pelvic infections, or noncompliant patients.

Uses of Pessaries:
As an alternative to surgery.

To delay or preclude surgery

To improve or restore continence.

Diagnosis and therapy in obstetrics.

For diagnosis to determine if surgery is necessary.

To manage uterine prolapse or vaginal wall hernias.

To relieve lower back pain caused by retroversion.

To relieve a cystocele (bladder prolapse) or a rectocele.

To prevent miscarriages by relieving pressure on a weak cervix.
Before initial use, the Pessary should be washed thoroughly.

Rinse the Pessary with 20 - 40 °C warm water for 30-40 seconds.

Apply mild pH 5-9 soap to rub the pessary gently back and forth for 10 times to lather well.

Rinse off the Pessary with warm water for 1 minute, repeat and wash if needed.

Wash again and rinse the Pessary thoroughly with distilled water for 1 minute. Ensure all traces of soap are removed to avoid irritation.

Allow pessary to completely air-dry before reinsertion.
